LynkVerse is a directory that connects students, companies, and universities based on real project work rather than a resume. This page explains what personal data we collect when you use the site, why, where it's stored, and how to reach us about it.

When you apply to join (the "Apply" form): your name, discipline/category, a title, a short description, country, county, area, university (if any), and any social links you choose to add (LinkedIn, GitHub, or one other link).

When you join the waitlist for a country we haven't launched in:your name, email address, and the country you're interested in.

Automatically, for abuse prevention: your IP address is used briefly, in memory only, to rate-limit form submissions. It is not stored or logged anywhere.

Application data is used to review and, if approved, publish your profile on the public map/directory — submitting the form is how you consent to this. Waitlist data is used only to notify you when LynkVerse launches in your country. Rate-limiting data protects the site from spam and abuse (our legitimate interest in keeping the service usable).

Submissions are stored in Google Sheets and Google Drive, using a private Google service account — Google acts as our data processor. Only approved profiles are ever shown publicly on the map. Pending and rejected applications are visible only to LynkVerse administrators through a password-protected internal tool — they are never public.

We currently retain applications until an administrator reviews them and either publishes or removes them — there is no automatic deletion schedule yet. If you'd like your data removed sooner, contact us (below) and we'll action it manually.

We don't use analytics or advertising cookies. Here is everything the site stores in your browser:

• sg-students-v1— a local cache of the public directory data, so the map loads instantly on repeat visits. No consent needed; it's strictly functional and contains nothing about you specifically.
• admin-key — used only by LynkVerse staff to stay signed into the internal admin tool. Not set for ordinary visitors.
• cookie-consent— remembers the choice you make in the cookie banner, so we don't ask again every visit.
• Google Drive video embeds — some student profiles include video, hosted directly on Google Drive. That embed only loads after you accept cookies, since Google sets its own cookies once it loads.

Under GDPR, you can ask us to:

• give you access to the personal data we hold about you;
• correct it if it's inaccurate;
• delete it;
• restrict or object to how we use it;
• provide it to you in a portable format.

You can also lodge a complaint with Ireland's Data Protection Commission at any time.
